Fun With Judaism (Not Just for Hippies)

Jennifer Bleyer, the founding editor of Heeb magazine and one of the my favorite young writers on Jewish (and non-Jewish) topics, has written a great first-person piece for Nextbook on “The Jewish Catalog,” the counterculture-era Do-It-Yourself compendium that taught her parents’ generation that Judaism “could be fun.” And she thought it was pretty cool, too.

Is there a formal procedure for assigning abbreviations for rabbinical names? Michael Strassfeld [at least] deserves one. I offer RaMSTeR, until someone thinks of a better one.
