Trustee Faints at Y.U. Ceremony
A member of Yeshiva University’s board of trustees fainted Monday at a groundbreaking ceremony for a building named in honor of her parents.
The ceremony was held for The Jacob and Dreizel Glueck Center for Jewish Study, which will be Y.U.’s first new building at the school’s campus in Manhattan’s Washington Heights area since the university’s athletic center was built in 1983.
The event went off without a hitch almost until the end, when Vivian Glueck Rosenberg, daughter of donor Jacob Glueck and a member of the board of trustees, fainted onstage. The Jewish ambulance service Hatzalah was called, but Y.U. officials later insisted that Rosenberg was fine.
The groundbreaking took place a week after the school announced that it was receiving $100 million from its former chairman, Ronald P. Stanton.
