You might call it a one-state solution: The grandson of Edgar Bronfman, former president of the World Jewish Congress, is engaged to M.I.A., the Sri Lankan electronica star who raps on one of her hit singles: “You wanna go? You wanna win a war? Like PLO, I don’t surrendo.” The visibly pregnant M.I.A. has told the press that her fiancé, Benjamin Brewer, is the father.
Born Mathangi Arulpragasam, M.I.A. grew up in London after her father, a macher in the militant ethnic separatist group the Tamil Tigers, went into hiding from the Sri Lankan army. Her music, an infectious marriage of electronica, hip hop and advocacy of Third World causes, has won her a huge following of hipsters, accusations of supporting terrorism and, apparently, a Bronfman scion’s heart.
Brewer, a singer in the New York-based band The Exit, is the son of Edgar Bronfman Jr., who is chairman and CEO of the Warner Music Group, a major recording conglomerate. Brewer’s grandfather, Edgar Sr., was until recently the president of the WJC and a major booster for Israel.
In a November interview with the New York Post, M.I.A., who lives in Brooklyn, battled the charge that marrying into one of America’s richest families is contrary to her postcolonial politics.
“They’re the most liberal family. They bootlegged alcohol, for God’s sake,” she said, referring to the origin of the Bronfman riches, the Canadian liquor company Seagrams.
Whether the Bronfman-Arulpragasam scion will eventually participate in a Birthright trip, only time will tell.

Birthright trip seems unlikely -- I think they're aimed at Jewish people.
Just another sad example of the failed reform & conservative movements.

Edgar Bronfman's great-grandson won't be remotely Jewish so any Birthright trip in the future is out of the question. Benjamin Brewer is not Jewish because he's mother is not Jewish. Most, if not all, of Edgar's grandchildren are not Jewish. Regardless of that it's pretty pathetic and sad that a supporter of the terrorist and Jew-hating Plo is marrying into the prominent Jewish Bronfman family.

MIA is the coolest musician performing in the world today: she does credit to the Bronfman family by her presence in it.
M.I.A is not a musician and not even a singer. Her music is created by producers, DJ's and real musicians who actually play intruments. There's nothing cool about an overrated hatemonger. M.I.A is a blight on the Bronfman family because she's a Jew-hater who supports the murder of Jews. Marc is just another anti-semite who loves terrorists.
So how are the Bronfmans Jewish? Because they turned millions into alcohol addicts and destroyed millions of families?
A class act all the way! Just goes to prove that a person's belonging to the "underclass" has nothing to do with money, or lack thereof. Rich people and their whores can be underclass too.
Ben Brewer is half Afro - American, his mother Sherri Brewer is black. So, is Ben Jewish by the standard that you Mother must be Jewish? Two, they look in love. Period!!!
Plenty of half-Jewish people consider themselves Jewish, are considered Jewish by the Gentiles around them, and are loyal to the interests of their ethnic group. By that standard this marriage is a glaring and painful example of the failure of assimilationist Judaism. What really irks me is that the Bronfman family has nothing to say about it. They have sunk low.
