Paul McCartney will not be silenced. The former Beatle has received death threats from an Islamic militant leader over an upcoming concert in Israel, but McCartney refuses to cancel the historic show, Haaretz reported. Omar Bakri, a Lebanese-Islamic activist, told the London newspaper the Sunday Express that McCartney’s decision to perform in Tel Aviv makes him an enemy of Muslims. “If he values his life, Mr. McCartney must not come to Israel,” Bakri said. “He will not be safe there. The sacrifice operatives will be waiting for him.”
Other pro-Palestinian groups also have asked McCartney to cancel the September 25 gig.
The concert marks the first time that McCartney will perform in Israel. In 1965, The Beatles were barred from playing in the country, for fear that they would corrupt Israeli youth.

GO MCCARTNEY. DON'T LET A BLOW HARD ARAB DISCOURAGE YOU FROM DOING WHAT YOU DO BEST. THE ARAB GUY THREATENS EVERYBODY BUT NEVER CARRIES IT THRU. IF HE EVEN TRIED , THE TERRORIST WOULD BE CERTAINLY STRUNG UP, AND KILLED. PAUL HAS DONE MANY GOOD WORHTY CAUSE CONCERTS.... GO PAUL...RON
Paul is a class-act who breaks down barriers between people w/ music. This threat just demonstrates a bit of what we're dealing with...
I am certain that Mr. McCartney looks upon this as a concert for everyone who wishes to attend and enjoy his wonderful music. Why not advertise it as a concert held in Jerusalem, the seat of three of the world's great religions, as an evening of entertainment and comradery for everyone!
Carol Moore asked why Sir Paul doesn't perform a concert in Jerusalem, the seat of three of the world's great religions. Three reasons: 1. As the article noted, the Beatles were barred from playing in the Israel in 1965, for fear they would corrupt the youth. Even after 40 years, Tel Aviv is prob'ly a safer choice. 2. After John's "We're more popular than Jesus now" and other comments by the lads in their younger, wilder days, some sects of three of the world's great religions are still smarting. Even after 40 years, Tel Aviv is prob'ly a safer choice. 3. Tel Aviv has a larger concert venue.
